We had planned to kayak Bull Run from the Stone Bridge to Blackburn's Ford on June 16, 2018 and I had just received a camera purchased in the preceding days with the intent to capture the day's trip. This trip is captured in time-lapse video:

The gage at Blackburn's Ford read 3.04', which is normal for this creek. This level presents several opportunities for light portage, but nothing unmanageable. The boat is a 14' Sit-on-top. The weather in the preceding days was sunny and pleasant. Rain came into the area in the days after this trip prompting a follow-up trip the next weekend.

The boats here are an OK choice when at normal levels, but it's handling suffers at increasing levels. The trip the following weekend, where the gage read slightly above 6', proved the increased current had a larger impact on the boat decreasing it's handling efficiency. Steering to avoid colliding with obstructions was more important than forward paddling strokes.
